Evan Roth Smith on how even Republican voters turned on Elon Musk

In the wake of the Wisconsin Supreme Court Race, Slingshot founding partner Evan Roth Smith spoke with HuffPost’s Kevin Robillard about the reality of Elon Musk’s position with the Republican Party. Even Trump loyalists were beginning to see Musk as a burden to the president.

“It’s not just independents starting to become skeptical of his role, it’s voters within the Republican Party who like Donald Trump and want his presidency to be successful who are starting to see Elon Musk as a drag on Trump’s agenda and Trump’s popularity,” explained Smith. 

He goes to explain the effectiveness of Democratic attacks that emphasize his attacks against Social Security, Medicaid, and other entitlement programs, and less on his personal hypocrisy, immigration, and drug use.
